This position is accountable for providing general clerical support to the assigned programs and program areas; adhering to strict timeframes for reporting purposes and accountability; database management; assisting with program area meetings; filing and organizing program materials; creating flyers and brochures; special projects, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Coordination/Operation- 95%

  • Provide routine office support, including phone answering, duplicating, assisting with grant vouchers and record keeping, etc.
  • Assist with all necessary correspondence (letters, meeting materials, agendas, etc.).
  • Record meeting minutes and provide meeting materials as necessary.
  • Maintain program area documents and data.
  • As required, create program flyers, brochures, educational materials, and other special tasks in collaboration with program educators.
  • Take required program registrations, monitor participant attendance, etc.
  • Maintain the program area master calendar.
  • As required, provide administrative support (e.g., filing, duplicating, and formatting correspondence).
  • Assist with data entry and reporting as required to meet grant requirements.
  • Perform additional general office duties as assigned or required.
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with other agencies, businesses, and the general public to promote efficient resource utilization, prevent duplication of services, and support the mission and objectives of the Association.

Professional Improvement-5%

  • Together with the Supervisor and/or Executive Director, devise and implement a professional development plan to increase competencies relative to position responsibilities and to address changes in association programming and priorities.
  • Participate in activities that provide general support for Cornell Cooperative Extension, including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely expense reporting, collaboration with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs, and other duties as assigned.

  • Assist the Association in maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Be conversant with and endeavor to adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, the association’s health and safety policy, procedure, requirement, and standard, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Act proactively to prevent accidents and injuries, and inform supervisors of identified hazards.
