The Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN), which ISI Essential Science Indicators ranked second worldwide and first in Europe for Neuroscience, conducts innovative research on the human mind and brain in health and disease.

The Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PaLS), which incorporates the ICN, is ranked second in the world for psychology according to the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

The Colleges of Brain Sciences, Engineering, and Medical Sciences at UCL formed the Exercise Neuroscience Research Group (ENRG) through an innovative cross-college partnership. The group specialized in understanding the relationship between changes in the psyche and brain and physical activity.

About the role:

Principally, the incumbent will conduct research and instruct in the interrelated fields of sport psychology and exercise neuroscience. The position holder will collaborate with the ENRG from an ICN base. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for developing two innovative undergraduate courses: “Sports Psychology” and “Exercise Neuroscience.” This position is full-time (1.0 FTE) and funded indefinitely.

This position is eligible for a skilled migrant certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK visa and Immigration law. Therefore, UCL accepts applications from international applicants who require a visa. This appointment is subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service for Academic Staff at UCL.

About you:

You hold a doctoral degree in cognitive neuroscience, psychology, or a closely related discipline. You are globally recognized as a specialist and industry leader. You have an established history of publishing credible, peer-reviewed research. You have a history of receiving substantial and ongoing funding for research grants.

You have previously managed or supervised a research team or center. You can provide documentation of your exceptional research supervision and instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. You will conduct original research of the highest caliber in the field of mind-body relationships. You will disseminate and promote this work by the research objectives of UCL.

You will also teach within the ICN, PaLS, and DSIS divisions, in addition to working with other departments as appropriate. You will participate in the dissemination of information to non-academic organizations and stakeholders.
